Nature & Business Summit - ANNOUNCEMENT

On November 26, Montreal will host the first Nature & Business Summit, an event designed to strengthen corporate commitment to biodiversity regeneration.

The event will bring together key players from business, research and biodiversity protection to encourage collaboration and promote concrete action within companies.

“To reverse the biodiversity crisis and regenerate nature, it is crucial that all players in society collaborate and unite their efforts. Businesses have a central role to play, and the summit will provide them with the tools and perspectives they need to act effectively.” - David Roy, Managing Director.

An event for a critical issue

Businesses must act now to preserve biodiversity. According to the World Economic Forum, over 50% of global GDP depends on nature, and biodiversity loss is now recognized as one of the greatest risks to business. IPBES, the international body that assesses biodiversity and ecosystem services, points to a significant deterioration in the services provided by nature, while WWF reports that almost 70% of wild vertebrate populations are in decline.

A rich and diversified program

The Nature & Business Summit will feature a full day of strategic activities, with the participation of some thirty speakers. On the program: expert presentations, case studies, practical workshops and numerous networking opportunities.

The summit will address topics such as the ambition and tools needed to integrate biodiversity into corporate strategies, the current state of biodiversity action in Quebec, the value of nature in a business context, and the co-benefits of taking action for nature. It will also feature a number of concrete examples of ongoing projects, as well as workshops on reducing the local ecological footprint and that of the value chain, mobilizing teams and the ecosystem, preparing for regulatory changes, and the vision of tomorrow's company.

A must-attend event for companies and support players

Although primarily aimed at companies, the summit will also welcome researchers and non-profit organizations. The aim is to create synergies between different players, making this event a must for those wishing to collaborate and become actively involved in the regeneration of biodiversity.

The Nature and Business Summit, organized by Ateliers pour la biodiversité, will be held on November 26, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., at HEC Montréal's Édifice Hélène-Desmarais.
